There are no conditions, the only important thing is that you want to work: Serbia is crying out for these craftsmen, the salary is even higher than 150,000 dinars

The most deficient occupations in the whole of Europe include auto mechanics and auto body workers, and this problem significantly permeates the Serbian labor market as well.

– Our qualified personnel go abroad to do these jobs, because they are paid better there, and on the other hand, we have young people who are completely uninterested in such professions here. They want to deal with digital sciences today, IT is still the most tempting profession for them – said Miloš Turinski from Infostud recently.

Associations of car service centers in Serbia also confirm the problem of this situation on the market, for which they point out that authorized service centers have to wait for several weeks, not only for serious vehicle repairs, but also for routine work.

The exact number of workers in car repair shops is not stated anywhere, but the approximate figure is between 30,000 and 40,000 qualified craftsmen of all profiles who are in short supply in Serbia.

Salary up to 150,000 dinars

The group of occupations with the largest number of reported needs for workers includes mechanics and machinists. Employers are looking for almost 300 masters of this profile at the labor office. Many are ready to hire them without experience, and their earnings range from 70,000 to over 150,000 dinars.

Also, what represents an additional problem is that a large number of people are illegally engaged in vehicle servicing, for which the unofficial data is that there are half and half of them, that is, half of those with registered workshops, and half of them not.

It is also a serious problem from an environmental aspect, because car repairers, by the way, have a lot of obligations related to the disposal of hazardous waste, motor oil.
