Weather forecast for holidays and half of May

Stable and warm weather awaits us for the next three days, and from May 1, the atmosphere will be destabilized with thunder showers and local storms that will last until May 13, meteorologist Marko Čubrilo announced.

Today, in some places over the hinterland of the northern and part of the central Adriatic, there may be rare occurrences of local showers with thunder. According to his forecast, we will enjoy beautiful and sunny weather for three more days, after which rain awaits us.

– Then until 01.05. under the influence of an anticyclone stable, dry and warm. Maximums will gradually increase around next Tuesday and should range from +19 to +26, and locally, especially in the south of the region, around +30 degrees Celsius. From 01.05. the breaking of the anticyclone begins but on this day, dry weather would probably persist over most of the region. However, in the afternoon and evening over the southern, southwestern, western and less often northwestern parts of the region, unstable with thunderstorms that can be very strong in some places, accompanied by hail and strong winds. Daily maximum 01.05. still high, especially in the north where it will still be around +25 degrees Celsius, while in the southwest it will be a little cooler – Cubrilo pointed out.

Thunder showers are expected

In the coming days, very unstable and cooler weather is expected with frequent thunderstormsannounces meteorologist Čubrilo, a there will be conditions for local, weather-related disasters accompanied by hail/hail, a large amount of rain in a short time, strong rainfall and temporary stormy winds.

– Maximums will be lower, but they should move around the average with the values from +14 to +23 degrees Celsius. Currently only operational and control ECMWF around 06.05. they simulate a stronger cooling, but they are not supported by ensembles of a series of the same model – he explains and adds:

– At this moment until around 13.05. there is a signal for unstable weather with frequent thunderstorms and possible local storms, while temperatures would be around the average. For the first time this season, the CAPE values ​​are reaching relatively high levels, so that with the increase in available energy in the atmosphere, the risk of stronger thunder-storm systems also increases. For now, as Čubrilo pointed out, there is no danger of any extremely strong, supercell storms and instability ahead of us represent the usual May thunderstorms and local disasters – concludes Čubrilo.
