Architects from Italy offered the best conceptual architectural solution for the building of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro (MSUCG), the Museum of Natural History and the Park of Culture and Art with accompanying contents in the function of culture.

It was published on the Instagram page of MSUCG and “Promotion of Architecture of Montenegro”.

The winning solution was offered by the “A-fact – Architecture Factory” group consisting of: Andrea Rossi, Giovanni Sanna and Pierluigi Turco, it was stated in a post on this social network.

The group “A-fact” applied for the competition under the code “34prirodnjačkimuzej3996”. As winners, they are entitled to a prize in the amount of 100,000 euros.

It is also stated on Instagram that 48 works were submitted to the Competition for conceptual architectural solutions.

The decision on the first-prize solution was made by an international jury chaired by M.Arch. President of the Professional Chamber of Architects of the Engineering Chamber of Montenegro, Novica Mitrović. The expert members of the jury are: Odile Decq (Studio Odile Decq), Maurizio Meossi (Zaha Hadid Architects), Robert Schmitz (White Arkitekter) and Mike Wood (ARUP studio). The representative of the tenderer, the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, was represented in the jury by Nevena Jovović, M.Arch., acting general director of the Directorate of Spatial Planning in that department, and the director of MSUCG Vladislav Šćepanović was also a member.

In November, the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property announced an international competition for the conceptual architectural design of the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Natural History and the Park of Culture and Art with accompanying contents in the function of culture. The location in question is located on the site of the former Morača barracks and occupies a central position in the Capital City.

“Therefore, it is extremely important to valorize this space through the establishment of new spatial contents and the creation of a zone that will become the cultural center of the city,” it was stated earlier in the announcement.
