Selected winner of the competition for the conceptual architectural design of the new Museum building

The first-ranked solution in the International Competition for the Conceptual Architectural Design of the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Natural History and the Park of Culture and Art with accompanying contents in the function of culture is signed by the architectural bureau from Italy “a-fact srl”, whose team consists of Andrea Rossi, Giovanni Sanna and Pierluigi Turco , it was announced from Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro.

“We would like to remind you that the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property of Montenegro has announced an International Competition for the Conceptual Architectural Design of a Museum of Contemporary Art, a Museum of Natural History and a Park of Culture and Art with accompanying contents in the function of culture, and that the Competition attracted the attention of architects from all over the world , resulting in a total of 48 received works within the stipulated period”, they state in the announcement.

The members of the competition jury, they say, carefully analyzed all applications and selected the best conceptual architectural solution for this prestigious project.

The president of the jury was Novica Mitrović, president of the Professional Chamber of Architects of the Engineering Chamber of Montenegro, while the expert members of the jury were renowned experts in the field of architecture such as Odile Decq, Maurizio Meossi, Robert Schmitz and Mike Wood, as well as members of Nevena Jovović, acting general Director of the Directorate of Spatial Planning in the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property and Dr. Vladislav Šćepanović, Director of MSUCG.

“We expect that the construction of the new museum facility will contribute not only to the cultural life of the capital, but also to the promotion of Montenegro as a center of contemporary art in the region.

The realization of this competition represents an important step in the development of the cultural identity of Montenegro, and the selection of the best conceptual solution for MSUCG is of vital importance for the improvement of contemporary art in the country.

The new architectural building will not only serve as a space for exhibitions and art projects, but will also become a symbol of creativity and innovation in the very center of the capital city of Podgorica,” they conclude in the announcement.
