INSCRIBED PEOPLE IN THE BOOK OF THE DEAD BECAUSE OF THE FAMILY PENSION A resident of Vranje was arrested for accepting a bribe, but also those who paid it

Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, UKP, Department for Combating Corruption in cooperation with the Special Department for Combating Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Nis arrested AA (54), Đ. I. (58) and BP (41) due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they had committed the criminal offense of bribery, while the criminal report included the registrar (56) of the City Administration of Vranje due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he had committed the criminal offense of receiving a bribe.

It is suspected that the registrar received money from the suspects in order to, without appropriate documentation, enter certain persons in the register of deceased persons, which was the basis for conducting probate proceedings and exercising the right to a family pension.

He is also suspected of having received money to issue a citizenship certificate and birth certificate to one person, even though she was not present, nor had she authorized the other to do so.

Those arrested will be brought to the competent prosecutor’s office with a criminal report.
