Tomo erected a tombstone for himself and his dog

Tomo Prodanović from the village of Luka in Ivanjica showed by his example that the friendship between a man and a dog is great and eternal. He erected a monument to his best friend, his late dog Wookiee, but also to himself right next to him during his lifetime. For a long time, the inhabitants of this village will remember that particular Siberian Husky who guarded their houses and was, as they say, their best neighbor and friend.

– I erected a monument to him that cost about 2,000 euros, while the monument I made for myself during my lifetime cost a little less, about 1,500 euros, and there are pictures of him on it. I loved him the most and I have never felt such love and loyalty in my life. That’s why I erected a monument to him – said Tomo for the RINA agency.

The heartbreaking words dedicated to the Siberian husky are on the back of a tombstone written by Tomo.

“Why did you leave me, my friend, to grieve for you all my life. You brightened my life, brought laughter and joy, and then you left me and brought me sadness. May all the heavenly angels be with you, and you protect me, earthly angels. You will live in my heart forever,” Prodanović wrote on the monument.

He adds that Wookie was a special dog who never separated from his friend.

– Wherever I spent the night, no matter how far it was, he was always waiting for me at the doorstep. Such faithfulness could not be seen in life, nor can a man be so faithful. I bought him in Lazarevac, as a puppy that was not even 30 days old, from a professor who brought his father and mother from Russia, the real variety. Nsorry, I have to be honest, he listened to me better than my human friends – says Tomo.

Unfortunately Wookiee lived for only two years and then moved to the other world.

– A neighbor was passing by with a new lada and hit him, the husky’s heart broke, when he tried to return so injured, he died on the river where he spent his time in the summer – concluded Prodanović.

So, one day, two great friends will rest in the glade of Ivanjica. Boss Tomo and his best friend, the faithful dog Wookie, whose friendship and loyalty were boundless and sincere.
