Former music star and famous soprano Charlotte Church today she is 38 years old and her life is nothing like what she experienced as a child, and her name is not as well known as it was in those days.

Like “child prodigy” and “angelic voice”as she was called, Charlotte sold millions of copies of her albums, sang before Queen Elizabeth II, Pope John Paul II and the president of America Bill Clinton and at just 11 years old had a fortune estimated at more than £25 million. However, 27 years later, she doesn’t even have a million.

I’m not a millionaire anymore – said Charlotte in an interview for the magazine Closer.

The Life Story of Charlotte Church

Charlotte was born as Charlotte Maria Reid in Wales, and after her parents separated and her mother married James Church, she was adopted by her stepfather, taking his surname.

At only 11 years old, she experienced huge success overnight – she sang over the phone Pie Jesua version from “Requiem” by Andrew Lloyd Webber, in the morning program This Morning in 1997.

She was invited after wowing the audience on the show Big, Big Talent Show a little earlier, and she left such an impression that she was a media magnate Rupert Murdoch invited to perform the same composition at his wedding s Wendy Dengfor which she was offered $100,000 and advertising in the media.

In the early years, she performed classical music, and her first album Voice of an Angel published in 1998, then Charlotte Church and an album of Christmas carols Dream a Dream and his last album of classical music Enchantment.

Since 2005, she started performing as a pop singer and released albums Tissues and Issues and Back to Scratch. Millions, fame and success followed her every step of the way, but she was not happy.

While I was still making money, I told my dad when I was 14 that I wasn’t sure about show business. “I don’t really enjoy it,” I said, and he replied, “Just stick with it while we get these opportunities.” – said Charlotte now.

I got to the stage in my teenage years, 16 or 17, where I said, “I don’t know if I can go on with this s****m.” – she admitted.

She didn’t have access to her wealth until she came of age, but when she finally could – she didn’t save. She said she will buy a ruby-encrusted bra worth £1m to celebrate finally being able to use her own money. She spent excessively, so it was recorded that she spent 10,000 pounds on just one trip to Ibiza, that she paid for everything for her friends, hired a personal driver…

While she was dating a Welsh rugby star Gavin Henson, bought a £500,000 house in Cardiff aged just 20 and built her own bar so they could get drunk at home. At that time they were called “Push and Back Rugby”, at the height of Victoria and David Beckham’s popularity, they bought a yacht… In the meantime, they separated in 2010, after the birth children Ruby and Dexter, and she bought Gavin a five-bedroom villa in the neighborhood so he could be close to the children.

Over time, Charlotte’s wealth crumbled, and she married Jonathan Powell and had a daughter Frey. People close to her say that they are happily in love and that he has a good influence on her, as well “calmed down since she met him”.

As she now admitted, she had to sell The Spinneya glamorous villa in Wales that she bought a few years ago and which she renovated with a lot of care and attention, for which she received about a million pounds.

– BIt used to be very fairy tale-like, but then it became a dark, twisted fairy tale – says Charlotte Church after deciding to sell her home. – When I think about everything now, the path I’m on right now is interesting because of how I think and look at everything that happened to me.
