The famous model spoke about the difficult period and autism that she was diagnosed with four years ago

Model Christine McGuinness was diagnosed with autism in 2020, and she said that she survived severe trauma because this developmental disorder “wasn’t diagnosed at a young age”, and it had a huge impact on her.

She said that she prayed for a long time that they would not wake up the next morning, and that her brother and sister saved her life several times, and they were unaware that she intended to kill herself.

“My early teenage years were very difficult. For years I had thoughts: ‘I just don’t want to wake up anymore.’ I prayed every night not to wake up in the morning,” she said once and added:

“My mom had a medicine cabinet. I would take the pills out of the closet and take them to my bedroom. I’d think, ‘Okay, I’ll do it tonight and I’m done with it.’ Mostly my brother would call me over to help him with the Xbox or my sister would ask me what to wear. It seemed to me that someone was always interrupting or bothering me.”

The model revealed last week that she has finally started taking ADHD medication. Three months ago, she divorced her husband with whom she has three children who were also born with autism. They announced in 2021 that they were divorcing after 11 years of marriage.

“Then I thought, ‘Okay, I’ll just try a small dose and see how it works, if it helps. And she helped calm my mind. I’m still active, I can still do everything I could before, only better,” she said about taking medication, reports “Daily Mail”, and she also pointed out that now she no longer struggles with many different topics while thinking or speak.
