Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones (54) recently congratulated her husband Michael Douglas (79) on their 23rd wedding anniversary with an emotional post on her Instagram.

Although the public did not predict their longevity due to the age difference, this Hollywood couple showed how strong their love is.

The actress shared on Instagram photos from their wedding, but also other important moments of life together.

– Today we celebrate 23 years of marriage. Dear Michael, the Nobel Peace Prize awaits you. I love you… from your dear wife, winner of the Gold Star Medal of Honor – Zeta-Jones wrote under the photo.

They got married in the hotel ‘The Plaza’ in New York in 2000, and the wedding is considered one of the most luxurious. Between $1.5 and $2 million was reportedly spent.

Even then, Douglas said he would his wife get whatever she wantsand it seems that her wish was also a “Christian Lacroix” wedding dress covered in satin and decorated with hand-stitched diamonds.

The couple met at the Deauville Film Festival in France in 1996, and were introduced by mutual friends Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith, who were together at the time. Already on the first night, the actor declared that he would be the father of her children, and Catherine allegedly did not like him right away.
