“I only went to the family home two or three times”

Singer Dragana Mirković, to the surprise of many, recently revealed that she is divorcing her husband Toni Bijelić, and in one of her last interviews she opened up about the difficult period behind her.

The interview was conducted shortly before Dragana’s confession about the divorce, and when asked about the messages she used to send to Tony at concerts, she had a clear attitude.

– When Tony is present at the concert, secret signs are unnecessary. For the first time, while preparing concerts in the Arena, I was separated from my family. Of course, like every woman and mother, I have to admit that I missed my children the most, let’s not lie. I was separated from my family because I was preparing a concert, had meetings with the production about how the led screens would look, what would be on them and so on – Dragana said, all the while avoiding saying that she missed Tony.

– I only had half an hour a day to go out for lunch. I was not able to return to the family home. I only went home two or three times for two days. It was hard for me. It was hell for me, but I knew I had to – added Mirković for “Extra FM”.

As Dragana and Toni were considered one of the more harmonious couples on the domestic public scene, the news of their divorce shocked everyone. On this occasion, the singer spoke to the media and pointed out that she did everything to save the community, but that she failed and that separation was the only and best solution.

– As someone who has based his entire life on honesty, I feel a moral obligation to address the entire public today. It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that I have filed for divorce. For a long period of time, my relationship with Tony has not been what it used to be, and for the last three years we have practically led separate lives and do not live under the same roof. Despite all the irreconcilable differences, for the sake of my family and because I was brought up that way, I did everything to save the community we once had. However, over time, that gap became bigger and I realized that we do more damage to our loved ones by forcefully staying in something that hasn’t worked for a long time, than by putting an end to our marriage. I certainly remain true to my principles, my way of life, just as I remain faithful to my family and my audience, and I will always have respect for Tony as the father of my children and someone with whom I spent many beautiful years. Because of all that, this is my only address regarding everything, I thank the media for their cooperation so far, and I ask you to respect this decision and not increase the weight of the moment our whole family is going through – she said then.
