The “Simpsons” “killed” Larry “The Pond Fly” in the new episode broadcast last weekend. The regular guest of “Mo’s Bircuz” died in the party where he was a regular guest since the first episodes of the popular series in 1989.

Homer, Moe, Lenny and Carl attend Larry’s funeral in the latest episode of the wacky Springfield family, where they realize they knew very little about him considering the number of years they’ve known each other, reports NME.

Homer therefore wonders if they might be “terrible people”.

In her speech at the funeral, Larry’s mother mentioned the regular guests of the favorite Springfield bar.

“My Lawrence was always talking about his best friends, the boys from Mo’s Birchhouse,” whereupon she encouraged them to come up and say a few words about him.

Homer, Moe, Lenny and Carl are tasked with taking Larry’s ashes to his “special place” – Serenity Falls, after his mother presents them with a group photo of them all together.

Although he was a quiet character not central to the show’s main plot points, Larry has been a regular on “Mo’s Burrow” since the first episodes in 1989, making his death significant for many “Simpsons” fans, NME recalls.
