Snežana Jovanović Šikica spoke about the divorce of her colleagues and revealed what kind of relationship she has with her husband.
Snežana Jovanović, better known as Šikica, was one of our most popular folk singers, she started her musical career in 1981 and was never exposed to the media, but everyone knows about her. Thanks to the songs “Seduce me, mother, poor guy” and the famous hit “Ala bih se shikicala”, she became one of the most sought after, while the track “Ala bih se shikicala”, as she says, earned three houses, which she is particularly proud of.
She has been married for 50 years, and while guesting with host Ivan Gajić on Kurir TV, she touched on her private life and relationship with her husband.
“I heard that they were telling lies about me, but everyone lives their own life. As for my generation and when we talk about public figures, I think they all got divorced. Only my husband and I remained married. All my male and female colleagues were getting divorced. Whether their career kills them or something else, I don’t know. My marriage was not ideal either. There were arguments, fights and jealousy when we were young. He wasn’t home before, now I’m forcing him out with a stick.” the singer said with a laugh and added:
“Now when I hear that young people are getting divorced, it’s such a time. My colleagues were getting divorced, but we stayed strong. There was jealousy on both sides, but we never thought about divorce or anything like that. Today, women do not suffer and are ready for divorce”.
The presenter touched on those arguments and the singer’s statement about the fight, and asked her if her husband beat her more or she beat him more: “He loves me and I love him equally“, laughed the singer who once admitted that her husband cheated on her, and that she chased one of his cheaters out of the house with a broom.
“My husband had 99 concubines. As many as you want. Waitresses, housewives, bartenders. As long as he’s alive and well, what does he care… I hit one of them with a stick. One of them came to my house and said where Buca is, we should go on a trip. What a way to fuck you. She didn’t want to leave the room and I took the pole and threw her out. What kind of a trip am I giving you bread”, the singer was shocked at the time.
