Two men attacked an old man (80), tied him up, ransacked the house and stole two original paintings by Pablo Picasso.

Now they are on trial, but there is no trace of the pictures. As it turns out, they sold them at the flea market. The stolen loot is worth a total of 75,000 francs.

One of the robbers was arrested, and his behavior in court caused great reactions in the public.

– They were fake, I sold them for 150 euros at the flea market – said the robber in court.

During the trial, he was caught in strange statements and even broke down in tears at one point.

As he said, he lost all his money playing poker and had nothing left. He also said that he did not want anything to happen to the old man. He even returned to the scene of the crime – the day after the robbery he stopped by the house to see if the old man had managed to free himself.

His lawyer therefore also asked for a suspended prison sentence. However, the court imposed a sentence of four and a half years in prison. In addition, he must leave Switzerland for ten years.

The Serb was tried on the basis of DNA traces at the crime scene. The suspect was not arrested after the robbery, but the police found him in another robbery in 2021, and then it turned out that he was wanted for other crimes, according to Swiss media.
