The 77th anniversary of the Association of Pensioners of the Municipality of Zemun| City of Belgrade

The Association of Pensioners of the Municipality of Zemun celebrated 77 years of its existence in the large hall of the City Municipality of Zemun. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the City Municipality of Zemun, relevant ministries and related associations.

The guests were greeted on behalf of the host by the President of the Zemun Municipal Assembly, Miroslav Gajić.

– Seventy-seven years of the association’s work is to be respected, just as your age is to be respected. Thank you for all that you have done, all that you have gone through, thinking of future generations and for what you have left as a pledge in the construction of Zemun, Belgrade and Serbia with your generosity. The positive economic measures that the state has adopted will now also affect your standard. We try to always be at your service and to provide the best possible conditions for the functioning of all associations of pensioners in our municipality. We are committed to the common goal of creating different programs and activities that are in line with your needs. We are one of the few municipalities that opened counters in cooperation with the PIO Fund, in order to bring you closer to all the services that enable various discounts. Once again, I sincerely thank you and we will always be a part of your celebrations and all the programs you implement, and we are witnesses that your association is extremely active and gathers a large number of members – said Gajić.

The President of the Association of Pensioners of the Municipality of Zemun, Biljana Kordić, presented cultural and educational programs in accordance with the recently adopted strategy of the Government of Serbia called “Active Healthy Aging”, such as travel, innovative recreation programs and the famous “Zemun Literary Challenge”, music therapy, dance school, courses patchwork and nurturing traditional handicrafts.

Professor Nadežda Petrović Orić took part in the program with a review of the association’s history, Milutin Milošević, who reminded us of the work of the great writer and native of Zemun David Albahari, the singing group “Zemunski filigrani” and the dance group of the Association of Pensioners of the Municipality of Zemun.
