Serbia is interested in establishing lasting peace in the Middle East

In the conversation between Ivica Dacic and Jahel Vilan, great concern was expressed over the continuation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Gaza, which began with the Hamas attack on Israel, according to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia.

Deep regret was expressed for the huge number of civilian victims and the humanitarian disaster faced by the population of Gaza, as well as for the abduction of more than two hundred citizens, the statement reads.

As stated, Serbia condemned the Hamas attack on Israel, with the hope that peace will reign in the Middle East as soon as possible and with a reminder of the obligation to respect the norms of international humanitarian law and the principles of humanity, in order to prevent civilian casualties.

It was pointed out that Serbia is interested in establishing permanent peace in the Middle East, based on the solution of two states, Israel and Palestine, which would live in peace side by side, concludes the statement of the MSP.
