Ceremonial opening of the new building of the Student Cultural Center of Novi Sad

“For the first time since its foundation, the Student Cultural Center institution received a facility with an area of ​​almost 3,500 square meters, fully equipped for the implementation of cultural and artistic programs, which is also the first newly built facility dedicated to culture in Novi Sad since 1981, when it was built Serbian National Theater“, the President of the Provincial Government said at the opening ceremony Igor Mirovic.

It is about a facility financed by the Provincial Government through the Administration for Capital Investments of Vojvodina.

The Student Cultural Center in Novi Sad, founded by AP Vojvodina, organizes various programs to encourage the cultural, artistic and scientific creativity of students. One of the most important areas of activity is the production of stage programs and theater performances, printed and musical editions, organization of concerts, exhibitions, music, film and comics festivals and other programs.

The facility has a multifunctional concert hall with 200 seats and 1,000 seats for the audience who will follow the concerts while standing, an exhibition gallery, as well as a section dedicated to student organizations.

Director of the Student Cultural Center Obrad Škrbić he reminded that this institution was founded in 1993 and that thanks to the Provincial Government it has its own facility as it deserves.

“This event is significant both for the work of our institution and for the cultural and artistic landscape of Vojvodina and our entire country. On the occasion of the opening of the SKC, we are also organizing the event ‘P(r)oleće’, which will last until April 27“, said Škrbić.

The opening of the Student Cultural Center was attended by the Vice President of the Government of Serbia and Minister of Culture Maja Gojković, members of the Provincial Government, representatives of the City and others.
