Guest of the General Hospital “Studenica” in Kraljevo, within the final phase Forward program European Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons (EAES), was prof. Ph.D Umberto Bracale. He is the director of surgery at the University Hospital of Salerno, and until last year he was a surgeon at the Surgery Clinic of the Federico II University Hospital in Naples.
The final phase of the EAES program meant that prof. Bracale as a mentor attends an operation that his student Dr. Ivica Zarev, subspecialist in laparoscopic surgery, performed in the Kraljevac hospital. On that occasion, Dr. Zarev applied TAPP laparoscopic hernioplasty, as a modern way of solving inguinal hernia with a minimally invasive approach.
The presence of Dr. Umberco Bracale in the operating room was an opportunity for the always desirable exchange of opinions and experiences among surgeons, as well as for the presentation of the achievements of the Surgery Department of the “Studenica” hospital in the field of minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Ivica Zarev expressed his great gratitude to Prof. Bracale for the support and mentoring provided during the education that the doctor from Kraljevo had in Italy and the satisfaction of his mentor’s visit to Serbia, Kraljevo and the local hospital.
Dr. Zarev expressed his special gratitude to all his colleagues and hospital management who supported this project with their work.
