Now the cold is one of the obstacles to continue sowing, but also the fact that the fields are covered in dust, there is a lack of precipitation, because there has been no rain for almost three months. The strong wind that blew in the past weeks further dried out the arable land. At the same time, the optimal time for sowing is slowly coming to an end.

“No one expected that there would be such a strong cold at the end of April. Since there has been such a drought lately, we all took care to use the existing moisture in the soil as much as possible, because in March the temperatures already reached 30 degrees and the soil heat reached the level where it was possible to start sowing. So, she completely reached the temperature, even 10 degrees above the temperature of the ground, which justified her throwing herself into the ground.” says Tibor Aladic, producer and entrepreneur from Šupljak.

It will only be clear in a few days whether the early spring sowing suffered any damage from the frost. For now, the plants are just growing, and the time of flowering is coming when they are most sensitive in the later period of development, adds Tibor Aladic.
