New details of the drama at the Hippodrome

A girl (12) who was seriously injured on Monday morningwhen she fell from a horse at the hippodrome in Belgrade, is currently in Tiršova hospital in a stable condition.

The accident happened yesterday around 10:30 a.m. and the child was rushed to the hospital. Emergency services told RTS that a child with serious physical injuries was transported to this health facility.

As Republika reports, the child who rode that day was not trained to ride on a trotting track.

– That happened yesterday. The girl suffered a hematoma and serious injuries. She rode a horse on a trotting track where she should not be so young and inexperienced riding a horse that can go at a speed of up to 80 km/h. There are signs everywhere about it, but people sometimes don’t respect it. The ambulance arrived in 5 minutes. The girl was wearing riding gear and it saved her to some extent. She is better now, which is the most important thing – the eyewitness of yesterday’s accident told us.

However, as another eyewitness said, disobeying the rules is common at the Hippodrome, and accidents like this often happen.

– House rules are not respected here. People with dogs enter the hippodrome as if they were at Ada Ciganlija, not at a hippodrome where extreme sports are performed. Here, people get annoyed when the trainers shout at them, and they don’t understand that they have to shout, because they are horses, they are animals and you have to deal with them like that – he pointed out and added:

– Trotting horses are ready and when they run on the track provided for them, they should not have any obstacles on it. If there is a disturbance, such as a dog or another horse, a serious problem can arise. There are several riding schools here, as far as who is trained for that, I will not go into that. People have to follow all the rules here in order to somewhat exclude the possible risks of danger. –

As he further told us, the child was injured when the horse knocked him down while galloping.

– She was thrown by that horse while he was galloping, and it is very difficult to restrain him at that moment and professionals sometimes do it with difficulty, not the one who is unprepared at the age of 12. House rules must be respected here. Here, while I’m telling you this, some of the riding schools are now following the trotting track, which they shouldn’t.
