The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, said today that Serbia, as the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić promised last year, fought and won for Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija to obtain visa liberalization, despite the obstructions of Pristina.
He emphasized on the X social network that Serbs from Štrpce to Leposavic, as a people in the heart of Europe, are not second-class citizens and that they have the right to freedom of movement, a fundamental asset of the EU. “This EP decision remains to be confirmed by the EU Council of Ministers in order for it to become operational.”
Today’s victory is an important message that, despite all the obstacles, we will fight tirelessly to make the life of our people in the Republic of Kosovo worthy of a human being in the 21st century,” wrote Petković.
Today, the European Parliament voted for visa liberalization for holders of Serbian passports from Kosovo and Metohija, which are issued by the Coordination Administration of Serbia, on the proposal of MEP and rapporteur for the abolition of those visas, Matjaž Nemec, reports Tanjug.
