The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said that the position of Serbia is extremely difficult, before the vote on the proposal for a resolution on Srebrenica in the UN, and that it would be a “heroic political success” if we had more countries that would abstain and oppose it.

“That is also important for us. We are trying to have more countries that will abstain and be against, than that will be for. If we succeed, even though we formally lost, it would be a heroic political success. I hope that it is not impossible,” Vučić told RTS.

He said that when he manages to convince small countries and explain the real picture to them, big countries threaten and pressurize, and even those who understand everything become more reserved.

He pointed out that today he will also have a conversation with the representatives of the People’s Republic of China, who are “terribly important for us”.

“I spoke with the minister from India, they are the largest countries in the world. Tomorrow I will have and I expect there to be over 30, maybe even 35 Asian-Pacific countries,” said Vučić.

He added that, during his stay at the United Nations, he spoke with over 62.63 percent of Latin American, Caribbean and African countries.

“These are extremely important continents and nations for us, and they feel Serbia’s concern. Some countries surprised me because they would not vote as we asked them to, but they heard our arguments. You have to keep in mind that it is a difficult topic and that it is difficult to confront the most powerful countries,” said Vučić.

He said that Serbia has some of the most prominent Western countries against it – the USA and Germany, which is pushing it the most, England, France.

“And then you see a small Serbia trying to say that neither the time nor the way to pass the resolution is good. Individuals are responsible for crimes and they are punished, and with this you are imposing collective guilt. They are doing this to cover everything that they cannot say about They are trampling and will show that they are not anti-Muslim,” said Vučić.

The President said that the Serbian delegation will not be sad, but that after May 2, when the UN General Assembly is scheduled to vote on the resolution on Srebrenica, they will have even more friends and will leave New York with their heads held high.

He emphasized that the proposed resolution did not mention the name of any culprit for Srebrenica, and such a resolution implies a collective condemnation of the entire nation, even though the proponents say the opposite.

“Why are you bringing this resolution? Are you bringing it out of respect, piety, remorse? I visited (Srebrenica) and bowed my head. I did not bow my head in front of stones, blows, bottles. I bowed my head in front of the monument to the victims, laid a flower, even though I was attacked. I invited them for a conversation right after that, considering that these are essential things,” said Vučić.

He said that this is an additional pressure on a sovereign and independent country at this moment and asked himself whether it is due to the non-introduction of sanctions against Russia, relations with the East or due to the failure to resolve the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, or, as he said, due to the fact that we are free and an independent country.

When asked by a journalist to comment on the fact that the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not reach an agreement on the issue of support for the reception of the so-called of Kosovo to the Council of Europe, Vučić stated that there was no agreement even for the resolution on Srebrenica, so that did not prevent BiH ambassador to the UN Zlatko Lagumdžija from working on the draft resolution.

“Well, there was none for this resolution either, so who cares? Since I assume that the Bosniak representative is also in the Council of Europe (Haris Bašić), what do they care? They will vote as they see fit and they don’t really care. “It’s the same here. Did Lagumdžija get consent for this? Well, he didn’t even ask. They don’t have consent within Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Vučić told RTS.

The President of Serbia also stated that at the session of the UN Security Council on Monday, the least discussed was the UNMIK report, which was the topic, and that, as he said, a trap had been prepared for Serbia in advance.

He told RTS that some wanted to hear when he spoke about the intolerable situation of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija at the session, and that others behaved like fans and, as he said, “were feeding their children with ammunition for attacks on Serbia.”

“And that’s the only thing they’re interested in. I couldn’t believe it. The British representative is an extremely smart man, a serious man. When he started talking about the referendum and the elections, it’s an insult to a healthy brain,” said Vučić.

He also said that the whole game was organized against the Serbian delegation.

He said that the representative of Malta, who presided over the session of the UN Security Council, told him that there was not much she could do, and that no one informed our delegation that women who were victims of rape would come.

“I don’t want to say the alleged, I don’t want to believe that it’s possible for someone to invent something like that, but I didn’t accidentally say that I could have filled the entire hall with Serbian women and Serb victims who lost someone close to them or who were victims themselves Albanian terror, but no one told us that such a thing was possible”, said Vučić.

He added that then the president of the temporary institutions of Pristina, Vjosa Osmani, lied that they were members of her cabinet, and that Marko Đurić published a list of members of her cabinet and that none of those women were members of her cabinet.

“And they all knew about it. And that’s why the start was delayed, because the protocol didn’t want to let them go, but then some of the big powers intervened, that’s why they let them go. They wanted to make a trap for me, about which I could not say anything because they would say: ‘Vučić, you are not a man and you will not kneel before women who have been raped,'” said Vučić.

He said that he had to defend the interests of his country and that there were many killed and raped among Serbs, but that the Kosovo delegation made a political theater out of all that, in which the UNMIK Report was not discussed at all.
