During the meeting, the commissioner highlighted the long-standing successful cooperation between the Commissionerate and the municipality of Kula, through which numerous Cooperation Agreements were implemented on the allocation of assistance to solve the housing issue, economic empowerment, assistance with firewood, food packages and one-time financial assistance, for refugees, internally displaced persons and returnees based on the readmission agreement.
“In the course of 2023, the Commissariat allocated a total of 15,880,000 dinars to the municipality of Kula, which provided for 102 families of refugees and internally displaced persons while they were in displacement. With today’s delivery of the Contract, six families of refugees and two families of returnees received assistance in building materials in order to improve their homes,” said Stanisavljević, according to the Commissariat’s announcement.
She added that the Commissariat wants to help our cities and municipalities and to encourage them to get involved in joint projects that are intended to provide assistance to all categories of persons under the jurisdiction of the Commissariat because we have the support of the Republic of Serbia.
As stated, the Commissariat helped a total of 8,315 families of refugees and internally displaced persons in 2023 by allocating housing units, construction materials, through economic empowerment, by allocating food packages, firewood and one-time financial aid, and the municipality of Kula was allocated funds that provided for 102 families.
