“Whoever does not want to vaccinate their child, should come and see what these parents and children are going through”

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), SERBIA is a country with a moderate or medium risk of wild poliovirus, which causes polio, and is in the immediate vicinity of countries where this risk is high, according to the latest report published by the Institute of Public Health of Serbia “Dr. Milan Jovanović Batut”.

A long-forgotten disease is once again at the door of Serbia! Minister Danica Grujičić explained this morning that there is a vaccine against polio caused by wild poliovirus in the WHO European Region (Turkey in 1998) and that it is only the parents’ responsibility to vaccinate their children regularly.

– When the polio vaccine appeared in America, before that approximately 60,000 children fell ill each year. After the introduction of that vaccine, in the first following year, no one. That is enough information to tell you how effective the vaccine is and how much it helps these children develop normally, and I think parents are taking a big risk if they don’t vaccinate their children – says Dr. Grujicic.

Minister Danica Grujičić stated that there is a large number of people who are neither professional nor educated, and have the opportunity to comment on medical issues, which is not good and creates confusion in the public.

– My recommendation is to contact the pediatrician, he will explain it to you. Doctors have a responsibility to be careful what they say and to absolutely advocate evidence-based medicine. And not to talk about something they might have read somewhere. Maybe they read it in English, but they are not fluent in the language, so they did not understand it as it is – says Dr. Danica Grujičić.

He emphasizes that parents are responsible for the health of their children and that they must understand how big a problem cerebral palsy is.

– I urge them, if there is no other way, to come to the Institute for Cerebral Palsy and see what the torments of both parents and those children are, to bring themselves to a state where they can function normally with all the neurological deficits and outbursts they have. Therefore, it is a serious disease, it leaves great consequences. Vaccination against HPV

It is a recommended vaccination. It is not mandatory, but why not vaccinate your child, when HPV has already been proven to cause cervical cancer.

– People ask if their child will remain sterile, that’s nonsense. HPV is a vaccine that has been around for 30 years and has been proven to prevent cancer and prolong life – says Dr. Danica Grujičić for “Prva TV”.
