– The plums were completely destroyed, as was the case last year. We do everything necessary, feeding and protection, but there is no escape from the frost.

– We are still not sure about the raspberry, what its condition is. She must have felt these weather difficulties, but we are still not sure how much it will affect the family, residents of Ivanjica village Lisa told RINU.

The experts confirmed that the snow itself is not a great danger, but that it is exclusively low temperatures, or rather those that go below zero.

– The fruits have formed and temperatures of minus one can already cause a problem. They can either cause those fruits to drop or cause some other damage that later reduces the market value of those fruits.

– This cold weather is expected for the next few days as well, so we have to monitor the situation and we will know the true situation only in a few days, says Darko Jevremović from the Institute of Fruit Growing in Čačak.

As the most vulnerable, Jevremović points out stone fruits that have already set fruit, and apple fruit species are also very vulnerable.

When it comes to raspberries and blackberries, apart from mechanical damage – broken branches and saplings, there will be no other damage, as he says, because those species have not yet entered the flowering stage.
