The Catholic church was built in 1770 and was consecrated in honor of St. George, whose name it bears. The solemn sermon, which was delivered in several languages, was attended by representatives of local religious communities, as well as Catholic priests from the surrounding towns, in addition to a large number of believers. During the solemn mass, priest Đerđ Juhas emphasized the importance of preserving life in the community.

“We have this small community, but even though there are fewer of us, we will not give up, we will continue to pray, we will turn to God and ask him to protect us, to give us help, to continue to guide us. “Everything is in his care, in his plan, and we look to the future with optimism and faith,” he said.

After the solemn mass, the celebration of St. George’s Day continued in the Hungarian Cultural Center Nepker.
