A forum was held for high school students dedicated to the prevention of traffic injuries

--

The occasion itself was the Traffic Injury Prevention Week, and the representatives of the traffic police of the Police Station in Kula and the Emergency Medical Service of the Kula Health Center told the present students a little more about the topic. In addition to the aforementioned representatives, the director of the Kula Health Center, Dr. Vesna Tomić, and the head nurse at the Kula Health Center, Tatjana Luketa, also addressed the audience. Speaking about the subject of the forum, the director of the Kula Health Center, Dr. Vesna Tomić, pointed out that it was designed to familiarize students with how and in what manner to act if a traffic accident occurs, whether they are witnesses or direct participants in it. Also, Tomić announced that this panel will be held on Friday at the School of Economics and Business:

“This lecture was conceived as a joint action of the Kula Health Center and the authorities of public order and peace, i.e. the police, with the aim of celebrating Traffic Injury Prevention Week. In this way, we, as doctors who are constantly faced with accidents, especially the emergency medicine team, and representatives of the traffic police held a forum and decided to present high school students with examples of abuse of both psychoactive substances and alcohol and their combination, and to let’s learn about the causes of the largest number of accidents at the level of the municipality of Kula and the country as a whole. Unfortunately, precisely by entering this world of traffic, novice drivers have to face all the potential possibilities of how and in what manner to act when any type of traffic accident occurs, regardless of whether they are witnesses or direct actors. Also, there was talk about the way to approach the injured and how to behave in that situation and how to ensure the conditions so that there are as few consequences as possible, both for the injured and for the environment. Thanks to the police, we have a very good cooperation in general at the level of the emergency team of the Ambulance Service, and in this way we wanted to approach this population that is just entering the world of driving and that is already at the level of taking the driving test. In this way, the Kula Health Center and the police, in cooperation with the local self-government of secondary schools, became active in order to contribute to traffic safety. We also have a series of new actions that we will implement, and the next one will be on Friday, together with the students of the School of Economics and Business, where they will be able to hear more about this topic.”
