The portion of mixed meat for which he paid 3,200 dinars caused a lot of doubt among the foreigner who was staying in Belgrade, and he decided to solve the dilemma on the Serbian part of the Reddit forum.
The price is “stronger”, but realistic
“Am I deceived? I paid 3,200 dinars for this,” he wrote, and attached a picture of the meal.
Through the several answers he received, the same answer kept creeping throughr – the price of such a meal is significantly lower when ordered in butchers and ćevapdzinicas, but when it comes to restaurants on the level of Belgrade, the price is quite correct.
“Scammed? It’s all down to the personal angle. Overpriced? Yes, definitely,” read one of the responses to the price of one of our country’s favorite barbecue dishes.

“You paid the same as the locals”
The following editor from Serbia had a similar attitude.
“A fair price can be between 1,500 and 3,200 dinars. The price you paid is the legitimate, regular price for that meal, at that place,” he wrote.
One of them stated that the location and the interior are sometimes crucial in determining the price.
“Restaurants are always about location. U tourist area you pay tourist prices. The same in any city. Locals know cheap and good places, tourists are charged more, as well as locals. You were not cheated, you paid the tourist price. Don’t worry about it,” he wrote.
