The service for reception and treatment of emergency conditions takes care of over 2,000 patients with various ailments every month. It is a surgical admission where most often people come injured in traffic accidents, fights, stomach pains, burns, cuts, various injuries, as well as numerous other conditions of unclear cause. That’s why the doctors employed in this service have continuous education in various specialist areas, emphasizes surgeon Dr. Slavica Đurić, assistant director for the polyclinic-diagnostic sector and head of the surgical emergency department, it was reported on the website of the Šabac General Hospital.
– It is very important that the doctors in the emergency room are ready to take care of each patient adequately and in the shortest possible time. That is why we constantly organize lectures aimed at young doctors. They are educated by the specialists of the Šabac hospital. Today, the lecturer was orthopedist Dr. Zoran Slavujević, and since the beginning of the year lectures on urology, surgery, gynecology and otorhinolaryngology have also been organized. Such additional trainings are common and regular for this service, which receives up to 80 patients a day – points out Dr. Slavica Đurić and adds that all young doctors, when employed at the Šabac hospital, gain their first experience in the Service for reception and care of emergency conditions.
