The harmful concession contract with Vansi for the “Nikola Tesla” Airport in Belgrade has become even more unfavorable for Serbia, since the Technical Government, by a secret decision in January 2024, extended it to 26 years and 6 months, due to the consequences of COVID! So how much longer?! – asks Dušan Nikezić, vice president of the Freedom and Justice Party.

There was no business or strategic reason for Serbia to leave the management and development of the airport to foreigners. and the results of the French partner best confirm this. Until the arrival of Vanci, the Belgrade airport made a profit of 33 million euros, and in 2023 it made a loss of 7 million euros, despite the significant increase in the number of passengers – says Nikezić and emphasizes:

Everything that has been done so far at the Belgrade airport, Serbia could have realized on its own, since Vansi’s investments are financed by loans., and would probably avoid delays, crowds and chaos at the airport, as evidenced by travelers from all over the world. And instead of, after these devastating results, trying to terminate or shorten the contract with Vansi, the Government invents reasons to extend it even further. To the detriment of workers, travelers and the state of Serbia.
