After half of the planned slaughtered heads, several medals are already in sight, and tourists from Slovenia, Croatia and Germany have arrived.

– Out of the 20 planned, 10 roe deer have been shot so far – says the president of the Hunting Association “Sivac” from the town of the same name, Aleksandar Miković. – Although the official evaluation has not been done yet, it is certain that, at least for now, we will have six medals – one gold and one silver and four bronze.

According to Miković, hunting in the Sivač atar is quite difficult this season. Uljanarepica is a very lush, grain class, and the desired necks are not easy to spot and shoot. There are frequent weather changes and large temperature differences. But much more than that, the decline in the number of roe deer in recent years worries the people of Sivčani.

– We encountered n poisoned throats, but unfortunately, our hands are quite tied in this matter, as well as in the case of damage caused by wild animals in traffic – says Miković.

A doe of 190.72 points

In 2016, a roe deer was shot in the hunting grounds of Sivač, whose trophy was worth 190.72 points at the first evaluation. It ended up in the showcases of tourists from Slovenia, and did not pass the standard procedure of exhibition at the fair and official evaluation. If it had, it would have been the second, and now the third, trophy by the number of points ever shot in Serbia.
