BELGRADE – The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ana Brnabić, said today that the Belgrade and local elections will be held on June 2, and that the opposition’s request was also accepted thanks to the appeal of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who initiated to show constructiveness and to continue after the elections work on.

Brnabić told TV Pink that at the moment it is in the national interest to lower tensions and to have a dialogue between the government and the opposition.

“The government in the Parliament has never been stronger, only the list ‘Aleksandar Vučić, Serbia must not stop’ alone has 129 deputies. Together with the coalition partner – the Socialist Party of Serbia, United Serbia, the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians and some others, it is practically almost a two-thirds majority in the Parliament. So we show again that for the sake of seriousness, responsibility and respect for all citizens of Serbia, we have a dialogue, we listen and try to adopt their demands,” Brnabić pointed out.
