The pastor assessed the work of the Subotica parliament as successful

--

In the mandate that began on August 21, 2020, the Subotica City Assembly held 45 regular, two extraordinary and four ceremonial sessions, which is a record 51 in total, and 978 decisions were made at them, said Balint Pastor, President of the Subotica City Assembly at the conference for journalists, where he summarized the work of the local parliament in this convocation.

“We have always adopted the budget before the Catholic Christmas, which previously happened only once in a period of 15 years. This was important because public companies could plan their work for the next year right after,” said Balint Pastor, president Assembly of the city of Subotica.

He pointed out that the city development plan from 2023 to 2030 was adopted, the architectural core of Subotica was protected, the city statute was amended twice, the Bunjevac language was introduced as the fourth language in official use, and funds were provided for the reconstruction of the City Hall.

“After more than 15 years, we established the Council for Interethnic Relations. That Council functioned for the last time in the mandate from 2004 to 2008. I do not consider this important because I think there is any problem of an interethnic nature in our city, but because which is a legal obligation,” said Balint Pastor, president of the Subotica City Assembly.

Balint Pastor reminded of the decision to make kindergartens free of charge for children and that the work of the Subotica Free Zone was extended to Senta and Kanjiža.

He expressed satisfaction that the decisions were made in a good atmosphere and wished for successful upcoming local elections where the new convocation of the Subotica City Assembly will be elected.
