VM (27) was sentenced to six years in prison by the High Court in Belgrade yesterday, because in June of last year he raped his unmarried wife (28), and then beat their then six-month-old son in the apartment on Zvezdara.
– The defendant was sentenced to five years in prison for rape and two years in prison for domestic violence. So he was sentenced to a single sentence of six years – says Kurir’s source, adding that the defendant’s detention was extended so that he would not repeat the crime.
Let’s remind you, on June 1 last year, VM forced his unmarried wife to have sexual relations, and after the arrest, Kurir spoke with the injured party, who then told us the shocking details of the violence against her and the child.
– He strangled and raped me, I thought I was going to die! After the beating and suffering in the morning, he coldly told me “that he will take a few days off from work to help me with the baby because I am in pain” – said the crying and scared girl at the time.
As she explained to us at the time, she suffered mental and physical violence from April to June, but she consoled herself that everything would be fine.
– I was aware that I was in trouble, but I was overcome by fear, which I still feel now. Fear completely paralyzed me, because my life story is difficult, my sister and I grew up in foster care and he took advantage of the fact that we have no protection and parents. This gave him the wind at his back to make the violence more and more intense. He strangled me once while the baby was in my arms – she said and added that the matter got out of control when she started noticing bruises on their child every time she left him with his father.
– The baby started getting bruises from time to time, whenever I wasn’t around, and he gave him nonsensical excuses and justifications for how it happened. Then I realized that the problem is more and more serious and of a deeper nature.
The injured girl also recalled the fateful evening, where she pulled out a live head towards her.
– We had an argument, he grabbed her by the neck and started strangling her. He then raped me and I suffered chest injuries, bruises on my neck and head. I thought that my end had come and that I was going to die and I only thought about one thing, what would happen to my child – the girl said then and added:
– I survived the night in severe pain, and in the morning, before he went to work, he said without remorse that he would take days off to help me with the baby, until the pain passed.
She then stated that her partner had talked about it when she had injured herself.
– He spoke about my injury as if I had accidentally injured myself, and not as if he had beaten and raped me. I knew I had to run away, because otherwise it would be fatal for me and the child – she said almost a year ago for Kurir.
