At the reception of the Serbian delegation to the UN in New York, where there were 125 representatives from all over the world, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated that Serbia, as the founder of the UN, was committed to the Charter of this world organization and believes that these are the main principles of the world of tomorrow.
– When someone says that we need less of the UN, we say that we need a greater role of the UN. This is the only way to restore stability and peace in the world. Whoever violates the international order, we say so, and whoever is the victim, we are on his side – said Vučić.
He believes that the process of dialogue with Pristina will continue and that the EU will manage to impose a guaranteed 11 years, which the three parties signed, the agreement from 2013 and the most important precondition, the formation of the ZSO. He hopes that this will remain a prerequisite for Pristina’s membership in the Council of Europe.
– Thanks to your votes, we won for EXPO 2027 and I invite you to Belgrade to participate in this exhibition. We believe that such a spirit, with new ideas and the energy of youth, can bring good results – he stated and repeated that Serbia is on the path to the EU and believes that in the previous period it achieved good results in the growth rate and standard of living.
Vučić also spoke via a video on Instagram, where he pointed out that Serbia will fight in the UN to protect national interests and show the whole world how it protects them. He stated that he had promised one thing before leaving for New York.
– It means that we will fight until the last moment, regardless of all personal and other risks. I want to thank everyone who worked and prepared the session of the UN Security Council, helped me oppose something that looked like a set-up, like political theater – said Vučić.
He thanked all the people in Serbia who, as he pointed out, believed in their country, the leadership that knows that Serbia will win in the end.
– Our fight will never end. Thank you people for the huge support and love they show for our Serbia. Serbia will win! – he stated.
Hard time
In the video, the president said that Serbia is facing difficult times.
– Even if we lose formally, I am sure that it will be by a small margin and that we will show the world how the national and state interests of our country are protected. Thank you all for your attention, for your love for Serbia – he stated and pointed out that he is only happy because Serbia fought.
