The harmful concession contract with Vansi for the “Nikola Tesla” Airport in Belgrade has become even more unfavorable for Serbia, since the technical government extended it to 26 years and 6 months by a secret decision in January of this year, due to the consequences of covid, the vice-president of the Party said today freedom and justice (SSP) Dušan Nikezić.

“There was no business or strategic reason for Serbia to leave the management and development of the airport to foreigners, and the results of the French partner confirm this best.” Until the arrival of Vansi, the Belgrade airport was making a profit of 33 million euros, and in 2023 it made a loss of 7 million euros, despite the significant increase in the number of passengers,” Nikezić added in a written statement.

He emphasized that everything that has been done so far at the Belgrade airport, Serbia could have realized independently.

“Since Wansi finances the investments from loans, they would probably avoid delays, crowds and chaos at the airport, as evidenced by passengers from all over the world.” And instead of, after these devastating results, trying to terminate or shorten the contract with Vansi, the Government invents reasons to extend it even further. To the detriment of workers, travelers and the state of Serbia,” Nikezić said.
