It is a project in which “books tell” their life stories, and these are mostly members of vulnerable minority groups, who through direct conversation with readers convey their experiences of discrimination in everyday life.

In this way, readers can learn a lot of new things about people from their environment, but also about themselves, and the “Living Library” method itself is significant as such, because it encourages and promotes dialogue and understanding. An essential characteristic of the “Living Library” is that it is based on authenticity, and each “book” is based on a true story.

This kind of interactive communication is especially interesting for young people who are frequent visitors of these events.

The organizers are the Red Cross of Inđija, the “Dr. Đorđe Natošević” National Library and the “Friends of the Children of Inđija” organization.
