The Assembly of Vojvodina continues its session tomorrow: It was announced that Balint Juhas from SVM will be the new Speaker of the Parliament – Politics

Until now, the practice in the Vojvodina parliament has been for the opposition to get vice-presidential positions, but parliamentary groups that emerged from the Serbia against violence list and the NADA coalition believe that this acceptance would give a certain legitimacy to the elections, which were far from fair.

At yesterday’s collegium, the opposition and the future government only agreed on the division of MP seats into 19 committees.

Stanko Pužić, president of the provincial committee of the National Movement of Serbia (NPS) and first on the “Serbia against violence” list in the provincial elections, tells Danas that the provincial institutions were captured for two and a half months, i.e. 75 days, which in the history of our parliamentarism happens first time.

– Yesterday was the first consultation after the end of the elections in December last year. We are in a legal vacuum all this time. In the first session, we reached point number one and verified the mandates. The session was adjourned without us knowing whether we are on a break, which can last for an hour at most, or if it has been postponed, interrupted, which can last for 30 days at most. We asked for an official explanation as to whether it was a break or an interruption, we also demanded that the issue be started urgently, but the deadlines passed and nothing happened – says Pužić.

So now it is not clear what is the deadline for the formation of the Government of Vojvodina. If it is the session from February 9, then the government has two more weeks to form the government, that is, until May 9.

“Or they will count that deadline from tomorrow’s session.” Nobody knows that yet,” adds Pužić.

– At yesterday’s consultation, only mathematics was discussed, who won how much in the elections and the distribution of the board. There was no mention of why this legal vacuum arose and what caused it. They quickly organize the session again, in an undemocratic way. We refused the positions of vice presidents, if we filed appeals to the Constitutional Court on the provincial and republican elections, we would not be principled if they accepted them. We believe that those elections were irregular and unfair – he continued.

As he points out, he expects that the new president of the Assembly of Vojvodina will be from the ranks of the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians, as in previous mandates.

– We should look for the reasons why we waited so long for the session in the day-to-day political disagreements in the ruling coalition and who should get the bigger cake out of them – concluded Pužić.

The current ruling coalition of SNS with its partners from SPS, SVM, SDP, PUPS, PS has 76 mandates, which is more than enough to form a majority.

Balint Juhas at the head of the Assembly of Vojvodina

The president of the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM), Balint Pastor, announced that the party will nominate the manager of the “Prosperitati” Foundation, Balint Juhas, for president of the Assembly of Vojvodina.

Juhas was also the holder of the SVM provincial election list in the last elections.

The pastor said that coalition talks were also held with the president of the Serbian Progressive Party, Miloš Vučević, and that it was accepted that SVM will have eight state secretaries in the Government of Serbia in the future. This party has nine deputies in the Assembly of Vojvodina.

In Vojvodina, the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians will retain all the positions it had in the previous mandate, which means that in addition to the President of the Assembly of Vojvodina, it will also have the Vice President of the Provincial Government, and the Secretary of the Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration, National Minorities and National Communities, as well as deputies and assistants secretary.
