In the same time period, the Serbian economy doubled to the amount of 80 billion dollars, as well as the GDP per inhabitant which is 9,538 dollars, according to the “World Happiness Report”.

Twenty countries, led by Serbia, have increased their happiness index by one or more points since 2010, on a scale from 0 to 10.

The first happiness index report was published in 2012, based on data from Gallup polls from 2006 to 2010. Respondents in each country were asked to rate their lives on a scale of 0 to 10. Based on this, they derived an individual “happiness index” to compare how happy the countries were.

Since the first report, Western Europe has been happier on average than Eastern Europe. But as can be seen with this increase in happiness, the level of feeling of happiness among Europeans in Eastern Europe has approached that of Western countries. In fact, when you look at those under 30, the latest happiness indices are almost the same across the continent, visualcapitalist.com reports.
