I am not optimistic about the resolution on Srebrenica

--

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said today in New York that during today’s talks with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, he explained all the reasons why Serbia is against the adoption of the resolution on Srebrenica and that many countries understood this and said that positions should be harmonized, but that the postponement does not depend on Serbia.

“We will continue the fight, there are results, but it is difficult, we are small compared to the most powerful forces, but you cannot win the truth by force, and for us it means that,” said Vučić, reports Tanjug.

He also said that he is not optimistic that he will be able to prevent the passing of the Resolution on Srebrenica, but that this will not stop him from continuing to fight.

“I knew it from the beginning, that it was an almost impossible mission, but that doesn’t mean you can’t fight. What you guard and defend and what you swore to your people and citizens is sacred and the most important thing for us , and not fear of the force and power of those who are much bigger and stronger than us,” Vučić said in a statement to reporters in New York, where he attended the UN Security Council session on Kosovo.

He emphasized that they talked to everyone and explained the situation.

“I have to tell you that in all groups there is a huge reservation about the procedure and many of our friends from Islamic countries, even when they vote for, they are not happy, because it is clear to them that they are hurting a friend,” said Vučić and added that they and in that regard, they did a lot and raised the reputation of Serbia.

“We see that the pressure on small countries is more noticeable and stronger. We are small and it is not easy to oppose it. We did a great job at the UN. We had a meeting with the representative of Brazil, now with Guterres, with the UN special adviser on the issue of genocide, with five, six more European countries that we can at least ask not to be against us,” Vučić told reporters.
