After a seven-month break, the trial in the procedure better known to the public as “Jovanjica 1” continued. At the beginning of the hearing, before continuing with the presentation of written evidence, acting prosecutor Saša Drecun referred to the circumstances that preceded the decision of the Court of Appeal, which changed the second decision of the High Court to exclude from the proceedings the corpus of evidence related to the discovery of 660 kilograms of already dried marijuana.

It was particularly significant that prosecutor Drecun said that he was in front of his building on July 7, 2023, which is the time period between the two testimonies of inspector Dušan Mitić in the case of Jovanjic. video of a member of the BIA, who was otherwise accused in the “Jovanjica 2” proceedings. Drecun added that this same member of the BIA, after the preparatory hearing for “Jovanjica 2” was over, approached his desk and threatened him..

– I made an official note about it and informed the competent authorities and I ask that he be heard as a witness – Drecun said.

Let us recall that in the “Jovanjica 2” proceedings, among the accused members of the security services are two members of the BIA – Aleksandar Tošić and Branislav Radosavljević. However, prosecutor Drecun did not state which member of the BIA threatened him.

Prosecutor Drecun also referred to the fact that the president of the court panel, Zoran Ganić, said at the hearing held on September 27, 2023 in the “Jovanjica 1” case that it was not necessary to interrogate the former head of the Fourth Department of the Belgrade Police, Slobodan Milenkovic, immediately, as was the case previously ordered by the Appellate Court, but that it will be heard in the continuation of the main trial. Judge Ganić explained such a decision by the fact that four inspectors – Miloš Jurišević, Ljubomir Petrović, Dušan Mitić and Milan Isakov – testified.

Considering that all the aforementioned inspectors stated during their testimonies that their chief at the time, Slobodan Milenković, would speak more and in more detail about the reasons and methods of police action on the Jovanjica estate, prosecutor Drecun said that before continuing the presentation of evidence in this proceeding, it should be called Inspector Milenkovic testifies.

Prosecutor Drecun added that this was a procedure that was significantly covered by the media and that after the testimony of the inspectors, the hunt for them and their demonization continued, that inspectors Slobodan Milenković and Dušan Mitić have had the protection of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit since last year and that such protection “is not just so” assigned, already with a reason.

Drecun cited a few more facts in support of his request that Milenkovic be interrogated before the trial continues. He also said that the defense of the first accused, Predrag Koluvija, also requested in November that all police inspectors who participated in the police actions on “Jovanjica”, including their chief, Slobodan Milenkovic, be questioned.
