The Austrian film festival will be officially opened on April 25 at 8 p.m. in the Cinema Hall of the Cultural Center of Belgrade, with a screening of the film “Zero Calories” by Jessica Hausner.
In this production, Miss Novak (Mia Wasikowska) teaches the subject “Conscious Eating” at an elite school. The class is completely charmed by the teacher’s charisma – who wouldn’t want to lose body fat, get fit and save the world at the same time? But gradually, Miss Novak draws her students into an absurd and dangerous cult from which they cannot or do not want to escape. Together they go to ruin, singing and dying of hunger.
In addition to the already mentioned “Club Zero” by director Jessica Hausner, the main film program also includes “Sparta” and “Rimini” by Ulrich Seidl, “Family Dinner” by Peter Hengl. , “Europa” directed by Sudabeh Mortezai, and “Rickerl” by Adrian Goiginger.
On Sunday, April 28, in the Cultural Center of Belgrade, Austrian Film Festival 2024 will be ceremonially closed with the premiere screening of the film “Rickerl” directed by Adrian Goinginger (6:00 p.m.) and a mini-concert by Voodoo Jürgens (7:50 p.m.), the musician and main actor in this film. Jurgens will also participate in a conversation with the audience moderated by Bojan Đorđević, artistic director of the Ring Ring festival.
Honorary guest of the Vudu festival, Jürgens, at the beginning of April this year, received the award for the best male lead role in the film “Rickerl” at the prestigious Austrian film festival Diagonale in Graz.
The Austrian Film Festival 2024 will be held in the period from April 24 to 28, 2024 in several cities in Serbia under the slogan “Imagine: Film”. The selector of this year’s edition of the Austrian Film Festival is director, screenwriter and film critic Saša Radojević. The festival is held in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš.
