The “Easter magic” was organized for the students of younger grades of primary schools in Kraljevac The Royal Association of Teachers in cooperation with the SOS Children’s Village and the National Museum

Fireworks of colors, smiles on faces, smeared fingers and joy on the face, kittens, ducklings, bunnies, guardians of the house, guardians of nature… Today it was like a beehive in the House of Vosjka Serbia in Kraljevo at the “Easter magic” workshop, which, in anticipation of Easter, the most joyous Christian holiday, organized for the youngest elementary school students Royal Association of Teachers (KDU) in partnership with SOS Children’s Village and the National Museum.

It was, almost in unison, the elementary school students told us, an interesting gathering where they had the opportunity to learn from each other about folk customs and symbols related to Easter.

The Kraljevo Association of Teachers was founded 15 years ago and gathers teachers from the territory of Kraljevo and Vrnjačka Banja who joined together for the purpose of professional development and promotion of creative work with children.

Danka Tešićpresident of the Kraljevac Association of Teachers, pointed out that KDU pays great attention to the promotion of creative work with children.

In addition to Children’s Week, which is a mandatory activity, every year we organize to gather the little ones at least once a year for another event. This year we decided that it would be an Easter workshop that brought together students from 13 elementary schools and children included in the Children’s Village Family Strengthening Program.

Irena Kostadinovićcoordinator of the Family Strengthening Program of Children’s Village Kraljevo, reminded that they now provide support to children, young people and families through several preventive programs: support for foster families, support for independent living, day care for children and young people with behavioral problems, support for mothers and babies, strengthening family in the centers of Kraljevo, Čačak, Trstenik, Vrnjačka Banja and Raška.

She assessed the cooperation with KDU as very significant:

It is important because an important segment of our work is precisely education through supporting children and improving school achievements, but also through empowering and raising awareness among children and parents about the importance of education and preventing dropouts from the education system.

The mayor of Kings, Dr. Predrag Terzić, also visited the small artists:

When you see these joyful children who are trying to portray Easter in the most beautiful way possible, you understand that it is necessary that the City, as well as other institutions and organizations, should together support such activities, because their teachers, in addition to the educational part of their work, are also trying and to teach these children the right values so that tomorrow these children become not only experts in various fields, but also good people.

This year at the “Easter Magic”, students, about 150 of them, had the opportunity to learn more about the traditional ways of dyeing Easter eggs from the employees of the National Museum in Kraljevac and try it out. The decorating of Easter eggs was evaluated by an expert jury in order to reward the winners with special gifts.
