An unusual announcement appeared on the Facebook page “Be Humane – Humanitarian Auctions”. Namely, one mother decided to auction her own milk.

– The possibilities are various, and it’s a shame to waste it. They say that a liter of breast milk is sold abroad for 600 euros. Well, if that were the case and we could transport milk, we would cure many children. Of course, I will not place a bid at that price. I can place more bids, if there are people interested in smaller quantities of milk, it’s dry gold after all – she concluded in her post.

As could be read in the comments, many mothers had experience with donating milk to the Institute for Neonatology.

– There is a certain procedure to donate milk there. First, swabs must be taken from the nipples to make sure there are no bacteria, training is given to sterilize breasts and hands before milking, their sterilized glass bottles and refrigerators are taken, milk and other things are brought in them… I know from experience because I had a premature baby. twins were born who spent 4 months at the Institute. I had a lot of milk for them as well, and for a lot of other babies besides them, and I donated it – explained one donor.
Another, who donated 14-15 bottles a week, added that the procedure is not complicated at all if there is goodwill, and that all information can be obtained from the Human Milk Bank at the Institute of Neonatology.
The hardest to spill
According to one mother, the hardest time for her was when she had to spill about 10 liters of frozen milk, because new milk was arriving and she had nowhere to go with the old.
