One person was killed tonight when a train traveling from Novi Sad to Belgrade ran into her on the left Novi Sad track of the Stara Pazova – Inđija section, the Railway Infrastructure of Serbia announced.

The announcement states that the unknown person who was injured was on an open railway, where it is forbidden and dangerous to life.

As it is added, the accident occurred at 7:17 p.m., and representatives of the Ministry of Interior and the Emergency Service were informed about it.

Due to the accident, rail traffic between Belgrade and Novi Sad currently takes place only on one, right-hand Novi Sad track, but no major disruptions in train traffic between Belgrade and Novi Sad are expected.

The infrastructure of the railways of Serbia once again appealed and warned that signaling and warning signs on the railway should be respected and that the railway should not be crossed in places where it is prohibited, because this is the only way to save human lives and prevent accidents.
