The Novi Sad Committee of the Party of Freedom and Justice made a decision to participate in the upcoming local elections on June 2 in that city, the President of the SSP City Committee, Vladimir Vrsajkov, confirmed for N1.
“We made a difficult decision based on the results in Novi Sad on December 17 and the expectations of the people of Novi Sad in the previous four months. We were guided by an unfortunate situation that divided the opposition and caused a lot of negative emotions among the citizens of Novi Sad, and we wanted to give an incentive to preserve some kind of unity of the opposition and silence the negative emotions, as well as try to restore the faith that The departure of SNS in Novi Sad is possible,” Vrsajkov pointed out for N1.
The fact that the SSP entered the election process, Vrsajkov added, does not mean that this party will not “extremely carefully monitor whether any of the promises, above all those related to the transparency of the voter list, are respected at all”, i.e. whether, as he said, there will be a grain of will on the part of the ruling party to implement the promises regarding the voter list.
“We will inform the public about all the preparations for election theft in Novi Sad, which we certainly expect, as well as all the measures we from the SSP and other colleagues from the opposition are ready to take to defend the electoral will of the citizens,” said Vrsajkov.
We remind you that the Freedom and Justice Party made a decision to boycott the elections in Belgrade on June 2, but also to leave the possibility to its local committees to make a decision on whether they will participate in the cities and municipalities where the elections are coming up.
