– In the 1990s, primarily through the Western media, a narrative was created that the Serbs were the culprits and the aggressors, and the other peoples in the region were the victims. No matter how much we fought back then, it was a marked path, which developed and reached its climax in 1998 in Kosovo and Metohija, and it became a path of no return for the disparagement of Serbian victims. Unfortunately, what happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina, there were victims on all sides as well as innocent suffering, and on the other hand we have a narrative that the Serbs are the only culprits. When it comes to NATO bombing, there is no aggressor. And when it comes to the civilian victims of that aggression, like shfor example, they are RTS journalists, even in that context, Serbs are not equal victims. A tough fight is ahead of us led by President Vučić – who now, after 29 years, needs the subject of Srebrenica and the Serbs as a genocidal nation to be opened before the United Nations, that Pandora’s box, as if there had been no previous crime in history. We had the Hague Tribunal, and then a declaration in our Parliament, which showed that we do not underestimate anyone’s victims. The fight is hard, because you know you are almost doomed in advance, but we must not give up and not fight. And we must not give up, because there are still free-thinking countries and peoples in the world who see the injustice and force of powerful countries that want to blame Serbia. The Albanians did not fulfill their obligations from the Brussels Agreement, when a Serb from the north of Kosovo and Metohija died, is that life less valuable? And why bringing raped women to the UN session? Do we have no victims or are our victims and our women less valuable? – she stated.

The minister added that the passing of the resolution on Srebrenica in the United Nations would put a political seal and collective verdict on the Serbian people and future generations, and that the irresponsible behavior of members of the opposition parties who speak against their country at this difficult moment for Serbia.

The minister said that “Elektroprivreda Srbije” founded a subsidiary company for stable supply of our citizens in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, in which EPS invested 40 million euros, in order to ensure stable supply.

– International institutions are monitoring the implementation of the agreement, it is important that our citizens have trust, that they cooperate with “Elektrosever”, while all problems will be solved in cooperation with the citizens – she said.

The minister added that 54 percent of households received discounts on electricity consumption in March.

– Thank you to the citizens who behaved responsibly throughout the heating season. In March, the largest savings in electricity consumption were achieved, as many as 54 percent of households received discounts, while a quarter received the largest discount of 40 percent, i.e. 830,000 households. I hope that citizens will continue to behave responsibly in the future. We launched this initiative in order to raise awareness and change small habits in order to pay more attention to energy consumption, thereby providing support to the energy system and protecting the citizens’ budget – she said.

The minister added that discounts for rational energy consumption cost the “Electricity of Serbia” about 80 million euros, which is not a small amount that is equivalent to investing in the overhaul of one unit of a thermal power plant or a hydroelectric power plant.

Đedović Handanović pointed out that the prices of electricity and gas for citizens will not increase.

– We said back in November, after talks with the International Monetary Fund, when we were fighting for the best conditions for our citizens, that prices would not increase this year. As for prices for the economy, gas will be cheaper by 15 percent, and electricity by around 20 percent, depending on the calculation methodology. The state will continue to work on creating a more competitive environment for the economy, so that products from Serbia are more attractive on the market, and this is significantly influenced by the prices of electricity and gas – she said, adding that the state stood behind businessmen during the energy crisis, when the price of electricity on the market was more than 600 euros per megawatt hour, and that he would always behave responsibly.

She added that there is a need for a constructive dialogue between experts, in which arguments will be discussed based on facts on how to use our natural resources in a sustainable and safe way.

– The most important thing is to use natural resources wisely, for the benefit of economic development, to amend the Law on Mining and thereby protect Serbia’s interests even more, to continue responsibly accessing natural resources, not to the detriment of people, nature and biodiversity. This would enable more jobs for citizens in western Serbia, higher salaries in that region and opportunities for people from abroad to return to our country. Without critical mineral resources, there is no green agenda and energy transition, we need to look at how we can use them and not be conspiracy theorists because we only bring bad things to our country, as opposition politicians do – she said.
