The Belgrade delegation, which includes numerous experts, will again be led by the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, while the participation of its chief negotiator Besnik Bisljimi is expected from the Pristina side.

European Commission spokesman Peter Stano confirmed that a meeting will be held today at the level of the main negotiators of Belgrade and Pristina on the dinar issue and stated that the meeting is planned to follow the usual dialogue format.

As he explained, bilateral meetings will be held with the two sides, initially with representatives of Belgrade, and then a trilateral meeting will be held.

This is the sixth round of dialogue, where the unilateral decision of Pristina to cancel dinar payment transactions in Kosovo should be discussed.

The EU’s special envoy for dialogue Miroslav Lajčak earlier this week expressed the expectation that the upcoming talks between the main negotiators of Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels will be based on “very concrete ideas”, assessing that during the previous round of dialogue the gap between the parties had narrowed.

The previous meeting at the level of the main negotiators was held on April 18 in Brussels, and Petkovic said then that Belgrade did absolutely everything in order to find a solution regarding Pristina’s unilateral and violent decision to abolish the Serbian dinar and payment transactions in Kosovo, but that Pristina does not want to find a solution.
