Congratulating Banjaluka Day, Vucevic expressed his satisfaction, happiness and pride that he was in that city today, pointing out that all of us, regardless of which side or bank of the Drina river we come from, perceive Banjaluka as our city.

It’s a good reason to visit this school and to make sure once again that the Republic of Serbia will be with the Republic of Srpska when it’s easier and when it’s harder. We will continue to work together on the most important projects that affect the quality of life of the citizens of Republika Srpska. There are huge changes in Banja Luka, there is huge progress, you have to protect that, because the key message is to keep people here and to have more children. “Neither the best infrastructure, nor the most beautiful schools, nor the most well-arranged roads or coasts, sports fields, centers, are worth it if we don’t have people, if we don’t have children,” said Vucevic.

According to him, there are challenging days ahead in May, and he said that we will fight politically to preserve both Serbia and Republika Srpska, to preserve peace and stability in the region, which is the national interest of both Serbia and Srpska, respecting and understanding the politics and expectations of all peoples and countries in this area.

He added that it is Serbia’s obligation to further strengthen economically and defensively, but also to take care of Republika Srpska.

And that is what will be one of the tasks and what you will hear in my exposition in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, where I will have a special part about the region, about the Republika Srpska and look back on our further joint work. I look forward to our meetings. I expect that we will gather around Easter or St. George’s Day and make important decisions for the period to come, in order to protect Serbia and Serbia and the entire region. Serbia wants the best possible relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, with Bosniaks, with Croats, with everyone who lives in these areas. We do not want any quarrels or any division, he said and emphasized that we desperately need peace and stability.

Vučević emphasized that Serbia will also take care of the municipalities in the Federation where the Serbian population is the majority, because they are part of the common culture, the common identity of the Serbian people.

Let there be peace in the Western Balkans. Let us all cooperate and let Srpska and Serbia live and let Banjaluka develop for us. Let it be the European capital of culture and youth and green, but above all let it be the city of Banja Luka, concluded Vučević.

The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, expressed his gratitude to the Government of Serbia and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, for the donation for the construction of an elementary school, highlighting numerous other donations throughout Republika Srpska.

I often say that it doesn’t matter how much that financial donation is, it’s important that you have your older brother who will be there for you at a given moment and come to your aid. All well-meaning people, when they look at Banjaluka 10 or 15 years ago and look at Banjaluka today, they are two different cities. And so it is in all local communities throughout the Republic of Srpska, Višković emphasized.

The mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković, pointed out that the new elementary school is the most modernly equipped in the Republic of Srpska, that it meets all world standards and that it is the fruit of the brotherly love of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska.

This school was built with shared facilities. Our Banja Luka has been waiting 22 years for a new primary school. The last school was built in the Petrićevac settlement with a donation from the Government of Japan, but with a donation from our Government of Serbia, we built this beautiful school. Of course, we don’t plan to stop here, we are building a new elementary school with the Government of Republika Srpska, and I believe that we will complete all the needs for elementary schools in that way, said Mayor Stanivuković.

On that occasion, Vucevic, together with the mayor Stanivuković, spoke with the director Tatjana Vilendečić and the teaching staff about the curriculum and the importance of the school for the residents of that part of Banja Luka, which started operating last September.

The visit was also an opportunity to tour the classrooms and offices where classes are held, and the students prepared a cultural and artistic program for the guests.

The tour was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska Radovan Višković, the heads of the cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense Žarko Mićin and Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, as well as representatives of the local self-government.
