DPK Vice-President Vljora Citaku says that the main lesson that Kosovo Prime Minister Aljbin Kurti should learn from the presidential elections in North Macedonia is not to interfere where it does not belong.

Chitaku stated on Facebook that Kurti was given a mandate as the so-called prime minister. of Kosovo, and not as the ruler of the Albanians.

“Now Aljbin, let’s talk about inflation, unaffordable cost of living in Kosovo, rising energy prices, lack of development projects, serious corruption at the highest levels of government (according to the State Department report), government intervention in the judicial system, suppression of media freedoms (Fridom House report) , joining the executive authorities, EU sanctions”, stated Citaku.

She told Kurti that he was chosen to manage the so-called Kosovo, and not to divide Albanians everywhere. A political analyst in North Macedonia, Jeljalj Neziri, told Koha that Kurti is a popular politician, but when it comes to elections, “voters think a little differently.”

“Kurti’s intervention had no real effect. Another issue is that Macedonia also has a multi-ethnic composition, a different political system than Kosovo. We live in two countries that may be the same, but they are not connected by the same systems. These interventions could have had the opposite effect. Kurti’s engagement was not gave the expected result. And that is popular, but when it comes to voting, voters do not take into account the cult of politicians, but they make decisions when they take into account the circumstances,” said Neziri.

He added that this was a weak election result for the Albanian parties in North Macedonia, but he pointed out that it was the first time that “Albanians turned out in such small numbers in the elections”.
