They want a collective punishment for the Serbian people, Germany is the most involved

--

In New York, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić continued talks with UN officials and member states in the fight against the adoption of the resolution on Srebrenica, and pointed out that General Assembly Chairman Denis Francis told him that Germany is by far the most committed to the adoption of this document.

Vučić announced on Instagram that the sponsors of this resolution do not want any postponement of the vote.

– It is clear that we have only the last preparations left to fight for the honor and image of Serbia. None of the proponents care about the Dayton Agreement they are trampling on, they don’t even care about stability in our region, the only thing they want is a collective punishment for the Serbian people. We understood the message and we will fight to the end – emphasized Vučić.

At a meeting with Mexico’s permanent representative to the UN, Hector Vasconcelos, Vučić informed this country about the facts and Serbia’s position regarding the imposition of the draft resolution on Srebrenica on the agenda of the UN General Assembly, as well as about the unforeseeable consequences of violating the procedures and basic postulates on which the UN is based.

– I also pointed out the fundamental problems and damage that the vote, forced in this way, will leave when it comes to the trust and unity of people and countries in the world, and first of all to the stability and coexistence of people in the Western Balkans – stated Vučić on Instagram .

He added that he reiterated that Serbia will use every political and diplomatic tool, as well as its reputation in the UN, in order to oppose pressure, blackmail and senseless accusations and preserve its image, as well as the credibility of the UN.

In a conversation with the UN Under-Secretary and Special Adviser for the Prevention of Genocide, Alice Vairima Nderita, Vučić pointed out the dangerous and serious revisionism of the principles that are embedded in the very foundations of the UN.

– I emphasized that the adoption of the resolution would relativize the very concept of genocide, as the most terrible form of planned and systematic extermination of peoples and ethnic groups, which humanity has unfortunately witnessed several times in recent history, Vučić said.

Vučić expressed concern that the adoption of that resolution could lead to further conflicts in the future and pointed to the need for everyone to work together, under the auspices of the UN, to ensure that justice is served in a way that promotes peace and reconciliation.
